Obituary of Mike Bauer

BAUER - Mike (Blackie) of Port Colborne passed away on Friday March 24 2017 in his 94th Year. He is predeceased by his dear wife Madeline Bauer, his sisters Elizabeth Erion, Theresa Deacon and his brothers Paul Bauer and Joe Siba. Loving father of Robert (Karen) Bedford, Nova Scotia, and Michael (Dianne) Niagara Falls. He will be sadly missed by his grandchildren Cheryl (Michael), Reuben (Sachiko), Tyler (Kate), Karl and Margaret, great granddaughter Briar Lily, his brothers Steve Siba, John (Lynda) Siba and his sister Margaret (John) Leishman.

Mike was born in Wakaw, Saskatchewan in 1923 and moved to Port Colborne in 1929. Mike was a faithful member of Central United Church where he served with his wife as greeters and onion dicer and fryer for their once famous cabbage rolls. He served his Country as a member of The Canadian Armed Forces 4th Anti-tank Artillery, F5th Division 1942 - 1945. Mike served in Italy, France and Germany. He was also a member of The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 56 of Port Colborne.

Family and friends are invited to visit at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME 135 Clarence St. Port Colborne on Tuesday March 28, 2017 from 7-9 p.m. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch #56 will have a service at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Service to be held on Wednesday March 29, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. in the Davidson Chapel with Heather Filson officiating. Interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Wainfleet.
