MILLER, Donetta (Dorothy) (nee Lostracco), passed away on March 25, 2017 in her 93rd year at Northland Pointe, surrounded by her loving family. Survived lovingly and will be dearly missed by her children Carolyn Miller and Annette (John) Molenaar. Predeceased by her husband Herbert Miller (2002)and her parents Domenic and Neva (nee DiTomasso). Loving sister of Clara Wilson of Welland; Joseph (Betty) Lostracco of Lancaster, New York; and Peter Lostracco of West Seneca, New York. Fondly remembered by sisters-in-law Laura Lostracco of Florida and Shirley Lostracco of Guelph. Dorothy will also be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews in Canada and United States who have so many cherished memories of good times and family gatherings with Aunt Dorothy. Predeceased by brothers Julius (Doreen) Lostracco; William (Willene) Lostracco; George Lostracco; Michael (Elizabeth) Lostracco; Richard (Charlotte) Lostracco and sisters, Stella (Ed) O’Farrell and Amelia (Angelo) Santone. Dorothy was raised on Thorold Road in Welland. In 1945, she met and married Herb Miller and moved to the family farm on Miller Road, Port Colborne. Dorothy and Herb were married 57 years and shared those years working the family farm. Mom was a farmer’s wife and enjoyed cooking and baking for everyone. Dorothy enjoyed those years on the farm, raising her family and being the dedicated and loving mother that ‘her girls’ adored and cherished throughout the years. Dorothy was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Gasline. Dorothy’s last few years were spent at Northland Pointe where she was treated with great compassion and loving warmth by the staff, residents and volunteers. Dorothy will be so greatly missed by all that knew her and loved her! Dorothy’s family will receive family and friends at DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME 135 Clarence St. Port Colborne on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, 11:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., A Celebration service will be conducted by Rev. Hamp at 2:00 p.m. at Davidson Funeral Home. The family would appreciate donations to Northland Pointe Auxiliary, Northland Pointe Gazebo Fund or the Welland and District Humane Society.
