Tuesday, September 26, 2017Doug was a kind gentleman who truly cared for those he led. We are grateful for his quiet, firm leadership, and will remember him with gladness for the grace he brought to us in Tai Chi, and in our association with him.

Tuesday, September 26, 2017So sad and sorry to hear of Doug's passing. As a close family friend of my father, Christopher Smallbone, my "Uncle Doug" was a big part of my childhood years and we spent many happy times together on holiday, outings and through Doug and my father's involvement with the Masonic Lodge. I fondly remember being taught to ride horses by Doug and the happy times this brought for me (and the amount of patience Doug needed!) Although we were not able to see that much of each other once I left school and moved to South Africa and England, we always kept contact and Doug never forgot an occasion for myself and my children. I will miss him and hope he is at peace. With love and happy memories, Jayne

Monday, September 25, 2017When I arrived on the Tai Chi scene in Welland, Doug welcomed me with open arms. He didn't just have everyone follow what he was doing, he explained the moves. A gentle soul with so much patience and a love for playing Tai Chi. It has been a great pleasure to have known such a fine gentleman. Our sympathies to friends and fellow Tai Chi players. Monday, September 25, 2017Murray, Marilyn, Gwen Family & Friends. We will see our love one again. Its sad to lose someone in death. What helped me the most was prayers and faith in God’s promise at Psalm 34:18 “God is close to the broken heart: he saves those who are crushed in spirit.” For more free comforting scriptures, please visit: http://bit.ly/1K38EFt. God’s Kingdom that Jesus taught us to pray for will bring about these wonderful promises. My prayers are with you at this difficult time.
