Obituary of Fred Ealaschuk

EALASCHUK- Fred- passed away peacefully, with his family at his side, at the Welland County General Hospital on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at the age of 99 years. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Mary (nee Rubocki) (2013). Fred is survived by his children Harold (Lorraine) and Fred all of Port Colborne, Dolores (Jesse) of Wichita Falls, Texas and Judy Chapelle (Darren) of St. Catharines. Grandfather of Kim, Jennifer, James, Trevor, Drew, Aaron, Blake and Ryan. Great grandfather of Bryson, Tuesday, Rylon, Hunter and Kamdon. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Sahari and Domka (nee Lasanka), his siblings Katrina Pauli, Vaselina Elena, John (Mary), Vera (Harry) Sawchuk, and Kay (Sam) Kelba. Born in Montreal, Fred has lived most of his life in Port Colborne.  Fred worked in the auto trade for many years and co-owned Central Sunoco with John Rivers from where he retired.  He served during World War II with the Toronto Scottish. He was a member of the Lincoln and Welland Militia.  He was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time with his family.  Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. in the Davidson Chapel.  Burial to follow at Mount St. Joseph Cemetery.
