FOGOLIN – Janet On the morning of Friday, January 4th, 2019, Janet Fogolin (nee Bentley) passed away after living courageously with cancer for three years. Born on December 19th, 1958 in Port Colborne, ON to William and Eleanor Bentley, Jan was an artist, loving mother, daughter, sister, and friend. After attending George Brown College, Jan became a full-time potter and artisan, ultimately moving to Kitchener and joining the Waterloo Potter’s Workshop. Here in Kitchener she spent many years caring for her two daughters Eleanor and Arlen, and her partner Frank, before retiring back to the city of Port Colborne in 2014.
Jan was endlessly curious, inventive, and genuine. She inspired her daughters to pursue their passions, and live authentically, and together they enjoyed many cups of tea and fits of laughter. Devoting herself with energy and love to her art, tai chi, yoga, and beloved dogs, she filled the lives of those who knew her with humour, compassion, and boundless creativity. She is adored and remembered by her partner and children, parents, brothers Rob and Tom, and her many, many friends. Her family will be holding an open house at 211 Alexandra Street in Port Colborne on January 12th from 12 to 4pm. All are warmly invited to visit, share stories, and remember Jan’s favourite mantra: “What else is possible?”
Funeral arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence St., Port Colborne, ON.
