Harold Poehlman

Obituary of Harold Poehlman

Harold Poehlman 1937 – 2021. It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of Harold Poehlman at the age of 83. He has gone to be with his wife Janet in heaven. He will be missed by his three sons, Brian (Vita), John (Tina) and Jamie (Maja). He was loved by his grandsons Adam and Nathan. Predeceased by his father Northa, mother Grace and brother Keith. Harold was born in Humberstone and lived his entire life in Port Colborne. He retired from the Niagara South Board of Education after 35 years where he worked in the Maintenance department. In his retirement Harold worked tirelessly at St Peters Lutheran Church as a Trustee, fixing and repairing all that was needed. He also loved his Tim Horton’s coffee and could be found there once or twice a day in his usual spot. Harold led a simple but full life and he was always pleasant, kind and good to others. Even with his many health issues he never complained and always said he was doing fine when asked. He is now at peace. A special thanks to his dear friends of over 40 years, Blaine and Yvonne. We are so grateful for your friendship. When he couldn’t be found at home he could always be found next door eating too many steak dinners and glasses of wine to count. Also, a special thanks to his caregivers that provided excellent 24/7 care to keep him content and comfortable in his home until the very end. Finally, a very special thank you to his primary caregivers, Tanya and Njeri. Your devotion to our dad will never be forgotten, you loved him and treated him like your own father. Words cannot express our gratitude and appreciation for all that you did. He was truly blessed to have you in his life. Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private family service will be held with interment to take place at Overholt Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of Harold to the Alzheimer Society. Arrangements entrusted to the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME, 135 Clarence Street, Port Colborne.
