Obituary of John (Jack) E. Templain

TEMPLAIN – John E. (Jack) of Port Colborne passed away at the Port Colborne General Hospital on Monday, November 01, 2021, in his 88th year. Dear father of son Frank and daughter Patti (Robert) Benner. Grandfather of Andrew (Tasha), Sarah (Jesse), Brock, Cheryl and Brian, great-grandfather of Valerie, Addison, Keira and Theodore. Jack will also be remembered by Amy (Darryl) Garner and family. Jack is also survived by nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his son Donald (2019), parents Frank and Dorothy Templain, sister Phyllis Sutton, brother-in-law Doug Sutton and infant sister. Jack was a past owner of the Port Colborne Canadian Tire store and Jack’s Sporting Goods until 1974. He was an avid sportsman, a former goalie for the Port Colborne Sailors and a drag racing enthusiast with fond memories of the “good old days” spent with many friends along the way and often with his son Frank enjoying the many things he liked to do. The family wishes to express our sincere thanks to the nursing staff of floor 2 West (Port Colborne Hospital) for their care and kindness. Cremation has taken place. The family will receive visitors at the DAVIDSON FUNERAL HOME on Tuesday, November 09, 2021, from 1:00 – 2:00 pm. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm in the Davidson Chapel. Interment will follow at St Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery. Due to Covid restrictions, attendance will be monitored, and face masks are required. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Walker Family Cancer Centre, St. Catharines site of the Niagara Health System.
